Celebrate our river, the park, and Sleepy Hollow’s mystical heritage

The Sleepy Hollow Mermaid Festival is a community celebration that encourages Hudson River access and education. The Festival's mission is to connect residents with the river today so we can all be part of its future. Our goal is to inspire river stewardship through history, art, safety education, story-telling, and fun, while also opening Kingsland Point Park's historic beach for the community to explore. Let's celebrate the magic and myth-making along the banks of Sleepy Hollow together.

Sleepy Hollow Project is a working group that aims to elevate community connectedness and address local issues through collaboration, art, story telling, and local events. The company was crated in the hours between school drop off and work in a children’s bookshop by three savvy, talented, and resourceful Sleepy Hollow moms whose professional careers in event planning, marketing, digital media, and documentary film make them uniquely qualified to solve problems and reimagine the mundane as something magical.

Riverkeeper is a nearly 60-year-old, member-supported nonprofit organization with the mission to protect the Hudson River from source to sea, and to protect drinking water supplies, through advocacy rooted in community partnerships, science and law. Our mission area includes the Hudson River and its tributaries, and all waters around New York City. Riverkeeper is committed to increasing public access to the Hudson River including swim access by reopening shuttered beaches and promoting new swim locations.

Rivertowns SUP & Yoga specializes in small group instruction and private lessons in Stand-Up Paddle Boarding (SUP), SUP Yoga, and SUP Fitness classes on the Hudson River in Sleepy Hollow. Their mission is to build community through supportive and fun experiences that can help you feel stronger, empowered, and inspired. Every experience with Rivertowns SUP & Yoga is an opportunity for growth, self-discovery, and most importantly FUN! This is the heart of our classes, our community, and our vibe… "get inspired on water, on land, in life!"

Created and operated by Tarrytown resident Tara Scheller, Rivertowns SUP & Yoga continues to expand its community with seasonal paddle meetups, themed events & fundraisers, trainings & certifications, and has become nationally recognized for its increasingly popular annual SUP Witches Festival in October.
